Saab JAS-39 Gripen demo
Some serious afterburner action is heading your way at the International Sanicole Airshow all the way from Central Europe. The Hungarian Air Force will light up the sky with their stunning frontline fighter for a performance you will never forget with their Saab JAS-39 Gripen.
Sleek, agile, and built for dominance, the Gripen is one of Europe’s most advanced multi-role fighters. In service since 2006, Hungary’s fleet of Swedish-built jets stands ready for air defence at home and across NATO missions — from Baltic air policing to guarding Slovenian airspace. Upgraded and mission-ready, these aircraft combine cutting-edge technology with breathtaking maneuverability. The Hungarian air force leases 14 Gripens, with an order for four additional aircraft arriving soon.
Based at Kecskemét and flown by the legendary Puma Squadron of the 101st Aviation Brigade (in memory of the 101st Puma Fighter Squadron from World War II) — proud members of the NATO Tiger Association — the Hungarian Gripen promises a high-energy display packed with tight turns, powerful maneuvers, and pure jet thunder.
They’ll be joining the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the Belgian 31 Tiger Squadron from Kleine-Brogel — one of the key themes of this year’s show.
Don’t miss your chance to feel the roar, see the speed, and experience the power of the tiger spirit in action during the International Sanicole Airshow at Hechtel-Eksel in Belgium on 12-13 September 2026.
